OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

What is the coil of wire between a magnet's north and south poles?

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

@aronq @Luigi0210 @abb0t @perl @Kainui @TheSmartOne @sammixboo

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

@jagr2713

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

what do you think @neonumbrella5115

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

I don't know. It sounds sort of like a solenoid, but not really. Like a more specific kind of solenoid, but I don't know any other kinds of solenoids.

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

i think my answer is wrong D;

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

tell me what you think, i would say electromagnet b.c its a type of magnet in which the magnetic field is produced by an electric current. The magnetic field disappears when the current is turned off.

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

am i right @neonumbrella5115

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

I think that does sound like an electromagnet, but let me try it...

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

AHHH! No. :( I thought that was right...

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

me to i apologize D: that was a tricky question and what was the answer?

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

Apparently it was an armature. I haven't even heard of that before.

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

OMG I WAS THINKING THAT -_-

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

RReally? I didn't even know what it was. Lol. :)

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

@jagr2713 Thanks for the help anyway!!

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

but know you do and i am sorry again D;

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

It's totally ok! :D

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

:D

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):
