f(x)=sin(x+pi/5)-9 so would this mean you go right pi/5 and down 9?

See the difference here - http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=plot+f%28x%29+%3D+sinx+-+9+and+g%28x%29+%3D+sin%28x+%2B+pi%2F5%29+-+9
Compare those two graphs. It's clear that f(x) is behind g(x) by pi/5 phase angle.
