Which of the following does not help explain why a small conflict in the Balkans spread to all of Europe?
Many of the European powers had signed treaties requiring them to defend each other. Slavs wanted to unite with other Slavs no matter which country they were living in. Germany's plan for war with Russia required launching an attack on France first. All of the major powers had strong military forces and were prepared to use them.
