You could look at relationships that have two or three years difference and see how the personalities interact (using pro and cons) and look at a relationship that has 10 years difference in age and see how the personalities interact.  You could look also at each persons mentality, maturity, and goals in life.

Giving my personal opinion, and prior knowledge, I believe that women tend to mature faster than men do [but note that this is only opinion; it's not 100% true], so for communication to be maintained between a couple, there should be a few years between them, the woman being younger that is.
