Yeah, it's the same thing. They're both religious journeys, expeditions, etc.
Here are the definitions: Pilgrimage: A pilgrim's journey. Mission: An important assignment carried out for political, religious, or commercial purposes, typically involving travel. Depending on how you view the definitions, they could be the same thing. In my opinion, they are the same thing.

@lauryn08 A mission is a pilgrimage but a pilgrimage is not a mission. Just like how a square is a rectangle but a rectangle is not a square. But according to what you're studying a mission is the same as a pilgrimage.
