How could the federal government have made the Dawes Act more successful? (A) by refusing to allow Native Americans to assimilate (B) by making it illegal for Native Americans to sell their land to speculators (C) by providing larger land parcels so the Native Americans could grow more crops (D) by using land speculators as brokers between the government and Native Americans

@jagr2713 @jigglypuff314 Is this C?

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think so.

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not sure though.

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

yea i think its D b.c Dawes Act was a disaster and did a lot of what it was designed to do. Of the choices, not letting Native Americans sell their land to speculators would have preserved much of the land holdings in their name, which would have been an improvement in their circumstances, so that is my choice.

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

you get it @happyrosy and @Jesstho.-.

OpenStudy (anonymous):
