Question

is this ascending or descending power of x ?
x^(-4) + x^(-3) + x^(-2) + x^(-1) + ...
this should be descending but the power actually gets larger so im confused..

write couple more powers and it might become obvious whether it is ascending / descending

It is descending relative to powers of \(x^{-1}\), but ascending relative to powers of \(x\).
