Based on the comparison notes of Washington and Lincoln, which aspects of their backgrounds do not seem to have an effect on their success as president?

@Jennaluv I agree. But as for you, think about the time frames both leaders governed the states. Both nations were experiencing difficulty in some way. Like Washington had to help build a new country from scratch. He needed to help build the country and lead it from the very beginning. Lincoln had to keep the country together because of it was threatened to split into two different nations. Lincoln had to negotiate and eventually bring the nation back together and reconstruct as if was before. Only difference is that he built it on his integrity and what he felt was right. Keep that in mind when you are trying to distinguish the two and finding common ground.
