How did Stalin gain control of the Soviet Union? I know I'm dumb please help!
Stalin was originally one of three members of a committee governing the Soviet Union after Lenin was incapacitated. However, Stalin controlled the process of "nomenclatura," the means by which new Communist Party members were selected to join the government. Thus, he was able to secure the loyalties of would-be officials as they entered government service. His main rival after Lenin's stroke and subsequent heart attack was Lev Trotsky. Stalin allied himself with one faction, then another, in order to politically isolate Trotsky. Ultimately, Trotsky believed that he was unsafe remaining in the Soviet Union. Given that Stalin had gained control of the party's security apparatus (what eventually became the KGB), Trotsky's fears were well founded. Ultimately, Trotsky fled to Mexico and was assassinated there. Every time Stalin gained a little power, he used it to isolate his opponents and gain even more power. By the 1930s

Shorter reply that makes sense?
Is there answer choices? Or do you want like a short synopsis ?
No answer choices a short smart answer would be great. :)
Ok hmm; in other words he controlled his rivals, he choice who he wanted in charge and if they were against him or his terms he was able to silence them or not help them become a committee governor. Like complete control over everything that happened xD
He just used his power to gain more power, out ruled those who opposed him and favored those who helped him gain his way :)
Omg thank you <3 😘
