The typical definition of irony is something you would not expect. Like bus driver being ran over by his bus or Ash from Pokemon trapped inside of a pokeball for all of eternity.  With that logic, try to pick the best answer.

It sounds like the second one may be your best choice.  The first one explains the function of the machine whereas the second explained what the machine do instead of it's intended function.
