Even though the Punnett square calculates that a couple has a 50/50 chance of producing a male or female, there are slightly more females born in the human population. Why might this be? Females produce more X chromosomes. Girls are stronger in embryonic development. HELP

There are slightly more girls than boys on Earth, even though theres a 50/50 chance for a girl or boy to be born, for the same reason that when you flip a coin 100 times, its most likely not going to be exactly 50/50 heads and tails. The outcome usually doesnt match the probability, though it should be somewhere around there.
