How do I find the answer to this question? parallel lines

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

their slopes are identical

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

slopes of paralel lines are identical

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

You just need to use the slope formula to find the slope. Do you know what that is?

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

slope formula is (y1-y2)/(x1-*x2)

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

thx for all nice guys who gave me 3 medals

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

You can do it (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) or (y1-y2)/(x1-x2) as long as you plug in the points in the correct order....it comes out the same :) (at least that is what my geo teacher said......)

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

So in that case the answer is 2/3 right?

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

Correct :D

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

Thanks:)

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

You are welcome
