Help! Which of the following equations describes the graph? a. y=3x^2+4 b. y=-3x^2-4 c. y=-3x^2+4 d. y=3x^2-4

OpenStudy (omgthatgirl):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it opens down, so the leading coefficient is negative that rules out A and D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you see on the graph where \(x=0\) i.e where does the graph cross the y axis?

OpenStudy (omgthatgirl):

Ok i think the answer is c because the y axis is positive 4 and since its going downwards it is going to be a negative which is -3x

OpenStudy (omgthatgirl):

@satellite73

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, exactly it is almost always C anyways

OpenStudy (omgthatgirl):

ok so the answer is c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup

OpenStudy (omgthatgirl):

thank you
