Can someone help me with geometry please?

OpenStudy (thomas5267):

Wow! That looks pretty.

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

:) Thanks

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

spent hours making it

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

If you guys could help me, that would be so amazing!! i need a better grade for geometry

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

but if you could help me, can you show me how to do the problem??

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Just set the equations equal to each other. Since they triangles are congruent, the sides are also conruent.

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

*congruent

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

what do you mean by that sleepyjess??

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

2x - 3 = x + 6

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

so i would add six to each side?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

either subtract 6, or add 3

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

so it would be 2x=x+9??

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Yes, then subtract x from both sides

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

so 2=9? kinda confused

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

wait no

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

what is 2x - x?

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

1x

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

yep, so x = 9

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

ohh okay

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

would you mind helping me with another one?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

sure :)

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

just the last one on the exam?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

exam?

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

well flvs assignment lol they label them as exams

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

oh ok, I understand :)

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

its what you do after you complete going through a lesson

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

yep :)

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

I also do FLVS, so I know how it is

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

yeah its easier to do it online instead of school because you can go to so many more resources

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

yep :)

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

thank you so much for helping me @sleepyjess

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Not a problem :) You familiar with the distance formula?

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

not really... i may have seen it before but its not coming to me at the moment

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

ok \(\sf\sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}\)

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

okay so what should i apply it to the equation?

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

to the problem**

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Just do the corresponding sides, DA goes to EH, AB to EF, BC to FG, CD to GH

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

ohh okay i think i see what youre saying

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Just plug in the points from each line segment into the formula and see if it equals the corresponding side on the other figure.

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

since its asking for a rigid motion isnt that rotations of 90 and 180 degrees or am i thinking of the wrong thing?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

I think it means things such as 90 degree rotation about the origin.

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

yeah because it looks like it was rotated 180 degrees

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

but i may be wrong

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

and they are both congruent

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

I agree with you on 180 degrees about the origin

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

okay so should i put rotated 180 degrees about the origin and they are congruent??

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

yep :)

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

thank you so much!!!!!

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

\(\LARGE\cal\color{#ff0074}{No~Problem!}\\\bbox [10pt, #00ffab,border:5pt solid blue ]{\color{#872AF0}{\huge\cal ~\dagger~\heartsuit sleepyjess~\heartsuit~\dagger}}\)

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

Fanned you!!

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Thanks :) and you can let the person that helped you the most know by clicking Best Response

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

awesome thank you so much hope to get help from you again soon!!

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Just tag me and I will come asap :) if you don't know how to tag, just put @sleepyjess

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

yeah i figured that out quite quickly lol its like educational twitter lol

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

haha yep

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

and if you have any questions about the site, feel free to ask :)

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

lol yeah just a quick question... where do i go to find biology homework help?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Just click \({\href{http:///openstudy.com/study#/groups/Biology}{\bf \color{red}{here}}}\)

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

oh i found it!

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

btw to shorten links, you should try bitly.com/shorten

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

it'll make this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOTk0-Q6tHU Look like this: http://bit.ly/1xCaIKh

OpenStudy (sebastiangonzagonza):

same link, same place, just short and sweet lol

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

haha
