Which of the following correctly differentiates how an anatomist versus a physiologist would study the effects of a muscoskeletal disease? A.) Anatomist: effect on muscle contraction; Physiologist: effect on tendon thickness B.)Anatomist: effect on tendon thickness; Physiologist: effect on muscle contraction C.) Anatomist: effect on bone metabolism; Physiologist: effect on bone growth D.) Anatomist: effect on bone growth; Physiologist: effect on bone metabolism I think it's B or D, but I'm not sure I may be wrong, help
could you help please? @Luigi0210 @.Sam.
All I really know is that Anatomist study structure while Physiologist studies function..
know anyone thats good at this kind of stuff? like I think I'm supposed to apply knowledge of "musculoskeletal diseases" to figure out this question or something
I don't see many people online that know about @Zale101 @Somy
I'll go with what luigi said! :)
But isn't muscoskeletal disease about pain/injuries tho? So I don't think C and D, about bone growth really fit.. And I haven't given an answer yet Zale xD
I wasn't referring to the answer. I wont give away the answer just like that when you're helping.
I'd take an educated guess and say B because muscle contraction is a function, just like physiologist's study.
isn't metabolism a function too?
Yea, it is.. so I guess the challenge is deciding which best fits with the disorder/disease. :/ @shrutipande9 maybe?
so I guess the question is, what better relates to musculoskeletal diseases, tendons/muscles or bones?
i guess B then
Anatomist is basically interested in structure or simply speaking anatomy, like length, thickness, material etc while physiologist is interested in life processes like how things work, metabolic reactions etc.
D is not correct since it says that Anatomist is interested in the study of bone growth. Anatomist are not interested in questions like How?
Now I think you can guess the correct answer :)
Nutshell, Anatomist = Thickness, length, breadth, material, number etc. Physiologist = Mechanism, Metabolism, Growth, other functions.
so B? (:

wow okay thank you @Abhisar , that was a tricky one for everyone
Welcome ^_^ Hmmm, Options are close :)
