what does it have to do with the Hardy-Weinberg principle
the principle only states that the frequencies of alleles and genotypes remain constant in populations in which evolutionary forces are not acting.
see the problem 2 below...it has mention of sickle cell anaemia
i know it does, but it just applies it to the equation. it doesn't prove as an example of the principle
it is..if we can apply the equation then it is an example..:)
but the frequency of the sickle cell allele is not changing
and that equation only proves the percentage of the population that will be more resistant to malaria because they are heterozygous (Ss) for the sickle-cell gene
