Can anyone help me in French??

I might be able to help. What is your question?

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

I don't understand when to use passé compossé vs. l'imparfait

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The passe compose is used to describe actions that have occurred in the past and have been completed. It also describes something that happened at a precise moment in time. L'imparfait is used when you are describing an /ongoing/ action that has been started but has no apparent completion. Likewise, it is used when describing repeated and/or habitual actions. J'allais en France = I was going to France This is l'imparfait because the act of going has no apparent completion. Je suis alle = I went to France This is le passe compose because the action of going has been completed.
