Which sentence uses a verb that agrees with its subject?
A. The leaves on our tree is not green any more. B. In the afternoon, the traffic on the highways grow. C. Four players on the team is out because of injuries. D. The new volunteers at the fire station are waiting for their first call.
This is my first normal question
Any ideas ?
Four players on the team *are out because of injuries. The leaves on our tree *are not green any more.
That cancels out A and C (since I corrected them)
Can you try to guess the correct answer now ?
I'm thinking B.
You there ? @BuonoTomato03
@BuonoTomato03 Do you understsand ?
*understand
In the afternoon, the traffic on the highway grows.
B is incorrect.
Because in D wouldn't it be WERE not ARE?
Also sorry my stuff lags cause I just got your latest reply.
Why can't D be 'are' ?
The sentence does not show enough evidence that it can only be past tense, instead of having present tense.
Ohh... Got it.
Glad :)
