first is prime, there's no common factors 2nd has a common factor of x, try factoring it out

so there's no way to factor the first one? i am trying to graph rational functions but my teacher wants me to list the domain, holes, verticle asymtotes, horizontal asymtotes, slant asymtotes, x intercepts, and y intercept. to find those i need to factor, right?

First does not factor. And that's a lot you're asking for, it doesn't just involve factoring...
