OpenStudy (theedwardsfamily):

Which step should be completed first to solve the equation 8x-12=13 ? A. Add 12 to both sides. B. Add 13 to both sides. C. Divide both sides by 8. D. Subtract 13 from both sides. My guess is B

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Which do you think?

OpenStudy (7thgrader):

definatly b because it makes the mose sense in my opinion

OpenStudy (theedwardsfamily):

b

OpenStudy (theedwardsfamily):

is my guess

OpenStudy (7thgrader):

i just said b lol!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1st = parenthesis 2nd = exponents 3rd = multiplication/division (whichever comes first from left to right) 4th = addition/subtraction (same with the left to right thing) 5th = must I go on?

OpenStudy (7thgrader):

nah

OpenStudy (theedwardsfamily):

@7thGrader i said in b in the question 2 though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ugh never mind that i thought you were doing a normal equation then i saw the x last minute -_-

OpenStudy (theedwardsfamily):

lol

OpenStudy (7thgrader):

ill take meh medal and your little dog too!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B is the only thing you shouldn't do

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

actually @TheEdwardsFamily take a look at it |dw:1423606177682:dw| you want to get x by itself, so the first step should be to add 12 on both sides. Because, if you add 12 to -12, you get 0. So all you have left is 8x

OpenStudy (7thgrader):

it has to be

OpenStudy (7thgrader):

B!

OpenStudy (7thgrader):

BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB
