3rd = multiplication/division (whichever comes first from left to right)
4th = addition/subtraction (same with the left to right thing)

actually @TheEdwardsFamily take a look at it |dw:1423606177682:dw| you want to get x by itself, so the first step should be to add 12 on both sides. Because, if you add 12 to -12, you get 0. So all you have left is 8x
