Hook statement for an essay on the importance of responsibility? (9th grade)
I just need help thinking of one.

Well, you could ask a question about why responsibility is important. Or you could make it your thesis statement also and briefly summarize what the essay is going to be about. Do you have any ideas?

I would, but according to the outline the teacher said to follow, the thesis needs to be at the end of the first paragraph. Maybe I could ask "Why is responsibility important?", it just doesn't feel like a very engaging hook to me :/

You could do something along the lines of "without responsible people *blah blah blah blah blah would happen*"?

Disorganization in the government, businesses couldn't be run, children wouldn't be raised properly, etc. etc. just make it seem like without responsibility there would be anarchy?
