@kayly Your second question "Which of the following is one way that the circulatory system helps maintain body temperature?" The answer is not A... it would in fact be B because the circulatory system consists of blood, the heart and blood vessels (veins, capillaries and arteries) and through vasoconstriction and vasodilation is how the body maintains its temperature / thermoregulation. Vasoconstriction is when the blood vessels contract. If blood vessels contract this means that LESS blood can pass through the vessels right? (Think of the vessels as a tube. If the tube gets smaller, less things can pass through it). Since there is a reduction in the size of the blood vessel, it will REDUCE the amount of heat lost. Usually vasoconstriction occurs when it's cold. Vasodilation is when the blood vessels dilate or become relaxed and larger/widen. So since the blood vessels are LARGER, more blood is able to pass through the skin and thus radiate more heat :) (If a tube expands, more things will be able to pass through). Therefore the answer is B.
