I saw this question earlier from another user.... Still trying to figure out how 12 is greater than 16... but anyhow, @Kainui may be able to help you.

now you can see that BC is x DC is 16 AC is 12+16 = 28, so taking the last two ratios we get x^2 = 28*16 so x=\[8\sqrt{7}\]
