Simultenous Equation problem
In a factory, two types of components are processed on two separate machines. The respective processing times on the first machine are 18 minutes and 21 minutes, while for the second machine the times are 4 minutes and 42 minutes. How many of each type of component, per machine, should be processed in an 8-hour shift so that both machines are fully occupied and the output of each machine is the same?
Any idea, @ganeshie8?
I thought of doing: \[18a+21b = 4a+42b\], but not sure
Any luck, @Ahsome ?
Nope, @Supreme_Kurt :(
Just call me "Kurt" And we'll get along :) It's called "simultaneous equations" for a reason, and for that, you need more than one equation. The one you came up with, sadly, isn't all that useful, so let's try to come up with a few that are, shall we? ^^
That would be great, Kurt :) Maybe we can say they both equal to 8 hours?
Looks like you already got it :) And your two equations would be...?
\[18a+21b=480\]\[4a+42b=480\] Where: \(a\) and \(b\) is the number of the two components made ?
You're playing games with us, lol You already knew how to do it, after all? XD
I kinda just guessed ;)
Well then, you're on the right track. POst your answer :D
Will do :)
a=15, b=10
Right proper :P
:D
Thanls again :)
I wasn't under the impression that I did anything... well, except call your attention, that is :P I call it "Kurt Magic" HAHA Good job ^^
Kurt Magic :O
You're a wizard, Kurt
