fan and medal:) Mary creates a table of values for a function and plots the points. She finds that the difference in the y values is the same. What kind of function did she graph? linear quadratic square root exponential

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can we assume that the corresponding x values are increasing by the same factor?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk. i dont even know how to do this:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x | y ------ 1 | 5 2 | 10 3 | 15 4 | 20 is different than x | y ------ 2 | 5 20 | 10 55 | 15 100 | 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First what type of data is she graphing?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not sure. :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

linear ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok lets assume they mean that the corresponding x values are increasing by the same factor

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in that case, then yes you are correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yw

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what i though the answer was.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah if you plot the points you can see you can connect them with a single straight line, that means its linear

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, thanks so much:)
