Please help! medal!! Recently, the Texas Junior College Teachers Association annual conference was held in Austin. At the time a taxi ride in Austin was $1.25 for the first 1/5 of a mile and $0.25 for each additional 1/5 of a mile. If the distance from one of the convention hotels to the airport is 9.2 miles, how much will it cost to take a taxi from that hotel to the airport? It'll cost $ to get to the airport.

I already did this with you earlier this morning.

I think this one may be different

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, I'm pretty sure it's the same, give me a minute.

The other one was the wrong answer, the answer came to 13 something

Oh

Well, here's the question.. http://openstudy.com/users/katlin95#/updates/54db5446e4b0ffc24cc3dbf0

Directrix (directrix):

The first fifth of a mile costs 1.25. That leaves 9 miles remaining because 9.2 is 9 and 1/5. How many fifths in 9? 9 * 5 = 45 So, add 1.25 + ( 45 * .25) and post what you get for checking, okay? @katlin95

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12.5

Directrix (directrix):

$12.50 is what I got, too.
