A researcher places a newborn between two speakers. The researcher then plays a sound from the right speaker, followed by a sound from the left speaker 10 milliseconds later. In response, the newborn looks straight ahead. This shows that: A.Newborns cannot hear either sound because they are hard of hearing. B.Newborns cannot pair sight and sound because they lack intermodal perception. C.Newborns hear both sounds because they have not yet developed echo suppression. D.None of the above.
