I honestly think they would still have gone through at least part of the impeachment motions because he committed such an act... but he might not have been (almost) impeached...

i was also thinking about that possibility, but do you think that the events afterwards would have occurred? for examples Vietnamization, SALT, and Détent? @kittiwitti1
