describe and discuss the problems the United States had with the British and the French during Thomas Jefferson's time as president. How did Jefferson attempt to solve these problems? How successful was Jefferson? (10 points)
Jefferson was a strong supporter of the French Revolution and played a major role in its early days. He soured on France after Napoleon became its dictator in 1799.[258] After 1774 he always distrusted Britain as an enemy of Republicanism. He said of the Wars of the French revolution, "The liberty of the whole world was depending on the issue of the contest".[259] Jefferson once argued that America would become the world's great "empire of liberty"—that is, the model for democracy and republicanism. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Jefferson
