3 As Ron took another step, he saw a flicker of light in the sand again. He grasped his bag tightly this time and knelt down to investigate. Glistening in the sunlight, the object appeared to be a glass bottle although it was still partially buried in the sand. He dug his fingers into the sand and pulled it out, substantiating that it was indeed a glass bottle. The sunlight revealed a piece of paper inside the bottle. Ron tugged at the cork that kept the note sealed in the bottle, and then he pried the note out through the bottle's narrow neck. The note read:
