Which relation diagram represents a function?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Z X Y W

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

There can only be 1 of every x, or input, value.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

x is the input and y is the output. A function will never have 2 or more x values(inputs) the same...they can have 2 or more y values(outputs) the same, just not the x's. So what do you think ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Y?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Y has all 4 arrows going out from 1, so it can't be Y

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

No......x is the input...and for Y, x is the same, it is 1, and you have 4 ones..... you cannot have repeating x's (inputs)

thanks you both fanning
