563blackghost (563blackghost):

How can you simplify this expression. Please Help!!

563blackghost (563blackghost):

\[(\frac{ t ^{4} }{ 10 y ^{4}})^{-4}\]

OpenStudy (ccswims):

The negative exponent says that whatever is on top should go underneath, and whatever is underneath should go on top. So flip the fraction and change the negative exponent to a positive exponent

OpenStudy (ccswims):

So now it's \[(\frac{10y^4 }{ t^4 })^4\]

OpenStudy (ccswims):

Then just distribute the exponent "4"
