OpenStudy (abhisar):

Expected behavior from normal users in case they find any breach of CoC by other user: See the original discussion here http://openstudy.com/users/hartnn#/updates/5485a058e4b079b941e3ad03

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Step 1 : [OPTIONAL] Personal Message that user very politely informing them about the rules that was broken by him/her. Without being rude request them to not break the rule gain. Maybe give the link to CoC. \(\sf \color{red}{\text{But Please do not attempt this step if you cannot be polite!}}\) You can ask an ambassador to do this on your behalf. If an ambassador attempts this step, it is mandatory to be nice, as always.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Step 2 : \(\bf \text{[Strongly Recommended] REPORT !}\) Fill proper reason for your report, on how a rule from CoC was broken. Reports are very useful because of the fact that they remain permanent in the system and Mods can look them up anytime to find the conduct of a particular user on OpenStudy.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Step 3: [MANDATORY] Relax and Ignore. \(\bf \underline{\text{Once you have reported, leave it to mods}}\). If you see repeated breaking of CoC by the same user, you can report again, \(\bf \text{but please do not spam mods by reporting it continuously.}\) Please don't break your peace of mind by arguing with them. A random user on internet should have no power to irritate you by their actions. Ignore such users, you have better things to do :)

OpenStudy (leader):

Would this apply to the TaC too?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Yes, on each and every policy.

OpenStudy (inowalst):

Thank you for writing this, @Abhisar.

pooja195 (pooja195):

What if there was no mod online and the person was vandalizing the site this has happened multiple times too

OpenStudy (abhisar):

You have to do the same thing, report. Moderators can see the report later and take action accordingly.

pooja195 (pooja195):

Ok thanks =)

OpenStudy (unanimoose):

I can't stress enough how important it is to just ignore and report. Most of the time people just lose their calm and the offender isn't reported in the end. =/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is helpful. Thank you.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Also you should not threaten to report the user because that will only make the situation worse. And you shouldn't tell the user either after you reported.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the ambassador do?

pooja195 (pooja195):

Ambassadors are representatives of OpenStudy. We answer questions from new users. We welcome and greet users. It's our job to be the embodiment of OpenStudy's ideologies.
