OpenStudy (bohotness):

Which word is a contraction? A. you're B. your C. yours D. her's

OpenStudy (inowalst):

Do you know what a contraction is?

OpenStudy (bohotness):

kind of

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a contraction is when you put two words together. Ex. Can not becomes can't, will not becomes won't, your is possessive. ex. Your cat is sleeping. Your hair looks nice today. Yours is also possessive. ex. The cat is yours. Her's is possessive as well. ex. The cat is her's. Her's is not a contraction. Try putting it into two words. You would either get "her is" or "her was". Those are not proper English and don't make any sense when said aloud.
