How does a universal genetic code relate to the hypotheses about the origin of life on Earth?

I'm going to just assume you are looking for something such as the RNA world hypothesis which essentially says that self-replicating ribonucleic acid (Which is RNA) were precursors to all of the current life that we can see on earth. One of the things with RNA is that it is very capable of transmitting, storing, and duplicating genetic information, similarly to how DNA does. but RNA also can act as a special enzyme. If we look in certain viruses today we can see some evidence to support this theory such as how certain viruses still use RNA as their genetic material rather than using DNA like us. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
