B. Thomas Paine wrote "Common Sense" which was a masterpiece that really sparked the idea of liberty in the mind of the colonists. Patrick Henry's famous words, "give me liberty or give me death" also set forth those ideals. And Sam Adams led the Sons of Liberty, a group of patriots.
