Every 10 years the United States takes a census, which is a survey of every person in the country. If you took the census data that told you the number of people in the United States, and if from all those numbers you calculated the mean age, what symbols would you use to represent these numeric facts? A. N and x̄ B. n and x̄ C. n and μ D. N and μ E. Σ and x̄

Which of the symbols are used with populations and not samples from the population?
Go here and look for the population parameter statistics notation. http://www.tc3.edu/instruct/sbrown/swt/symbol.htm
I think its D. i just wanted to check
I agree with D. N and μ although you were not asked about calculating the standard deviation of the population. But, none of the other options are correct so I would go with D.
thanks!!!
