I think no one everyone wanted him to be president pretty much thats why the was no election or nothing of the sort everyone wanted him to lead they were just on doubt about recreating a monarchy but they didnt want an anarchy either or else everyone goes out of control so yeah he was a good leader and the 100% best option
What danielle saidis true. The fact that he was the first president helped as well. This meant whatever he did would set an example, AKA there was nobody to compare him to when he was serving his first term. Then he got unpopular and resigned after the sacrifice treaties such as jay's treaty.
