Who is the most moral person in tempest ?

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

You are,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so if we are trying to find someone moral we cross out the villains Alonso, Sebastian, and Antonio, which leaves us with Ferdinand, Gonzalo, Miranda, Ariel, and Prospero

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then I would thing that Ariel and Prospero are both a bit cruel to Caliban and therefore cannot be the most moral character in the play..but that's just me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you have any ideas from here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(and of course you can argue in Prospero's favor because he is forgiving and takes responsibility for his actions w/ Caliban in the end of the play)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you from answering. I would see the most moral person would be Prospero. However, like you said most of the characters aren't moral.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And then you have Ferdinand and Miranda who are just too in love to think straight so I don't know if ANY of their actions can be taken with more than a grain of salt.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I think arguing Prospero is a good angle just support it :)
