Please Help :)

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

What do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think..its c :/

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Yep ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh really?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Do you understand how to get to that?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Or did you take a random guess? =P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol, Random guess

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

haha :) I will use an example. If I pay $250 for a TV with 7.8% sales tax, what would be the equation? We can't just use .078*250, because that would just be the amount of sales tax, instead we would use p = .078*250 + 250.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

RIght do you want me to do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

269.5 That is what I got

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

All we would do is substitute the values we know into that equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Hmmmm... I am confusing myself now...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol

OpenStudy (anwaarullah):

\[p=368.9(1-.085)\]

OpenStudy (anwaarullah):

option C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Yes, I know it is C, like you said @Kamisia , but I am confusing myself on how to get the equation haha

OpenStudy (shamim):

Tax=8.5%p Right?

OpenStudy (shamim):

So tax=0.085p

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

and then full price = .085p + p now I am not confused, thank you @shamim

OpenStudy (shamim):

I know u r making jokes @sleepyjess

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

huh?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

no, I am not joking

OpenStudy (shamim):

U r making the fact clearer!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I also need help with these 2 more questions please
