OpenStudy (vianne):

Which graphs show the solution to the given inequalities? http://prntscr.com/64lolb

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

rearrange the given inequalities so as to get x on its own and the it will be easy to see need more help?

OpenStudy (vianne):

Wait, I don't get it.. Can you give me an example on how to do that?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

try no 1:- -3x + 10 > 4

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

-3X + 10 -10 > 4 - 10 -3x > -6

OpenStudy (vianne):

That was a bit confusing...

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

divide both sides by -3 x < 2 (you flip the equality sign when dividing by a negative)

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

sorry i'm only sending small posts but I'm having problems

OpenStudy (vianne):

Okay. So -3 divided by 10 is -.3 and -3 divided by 4 is -.75

OpenStudy (vianne):

I have a feeling that I did this wrong.

OpenStudy (vianne):

@cwrw238 ?

OpenStudy (dmndlife24):

Still need help?

OpenStudy (vianne):

Yes! I still don't get number 1! >.<

OpenStudy (dmndlife24):

Okay...for no. 1 we have -3x + 10 > 4 We need to get x by itself, right? We do this by subtracting 10 from both sides like this...|dw:1423842117996:dw| the 10s cancel on the left side
