Can someone explain this to me? I need help on how to do this. I medal & fan :) Choose the equation of the horizontal line that passes through the point (-5, 1). y = -5 x = 1 y = 1 x = -5

@juana02 @ranga

@dancingdiamond can you sketch y = -5 on a graph?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

A horizontal line is made up of the set of all points with the same x value, or the set of all points with the same y value?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how about this, what is the y value of (-5,1)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y is 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = 1, do you see that in your answers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and as @whpalmer4 said, the graph y = 1, is a horizontal line because for any x, the output is 1. looks like this

OpenStudy (juana02):

@billj5 is right y=1
