Adobe After Effects anyone?

I need a small help. Anyone knows how to work with After effects, I just downloaded it and I need to know how to write stuff (like equations and all using paint tools) and animate the strokes.

I used to do it using screen recording and actually using paint and writing it. But it is tedious cause sometimes I go wrong and then i have to cut it out, and also I can't control the speed in that.
