MEDAL!!! Explain how to solve 1/2 (12) (10+18)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@sleepyjess

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

First add 10+18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

28, then what?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

multiply 12*28

OpenStudy (anonymous):

336

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

ok, now divide by 2, or multiply by .5, same thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

672

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

??? what did you do to get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

336 divided by 0.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@sleepyjess

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

no, divide by 2, or multiply by .5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Question, is it 1 divided by 2 Or a fraction like |dw:1423856522298:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a fraction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1st step. (Since you wanted to know how to solve it) So you need to first add 10+8, you do Parentheses first then you write that out like this 1/2 (12) (28) Know you multiply 12 and 28 because because when you have like 2(10+10) once you do the parenthesis you then times it. so then it would be 2*20. Got it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divide what by 2 or.5?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

divide by 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divide 2 by what @sleepyjess ?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

336/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh 168

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its 168 correct :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes! ^ Correct! That is your answer! 2nd step. divide by 2 and you get 168!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank You :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):
