Which polynomial correctly combines the like terms and puts the given polynomial in standard form? –5x3y3 + 8x4y2 – xy5 – 2x2y4 + 8x6 + 3x2y4 – 6xy5 –7xy5 + 5x2y4 – 5x3y3 + 8x4y2 + 8x6 5xy5 + 8x4y2 + x2y4 – 5x3y3 + 8x6 8x6 + 5xy5 + 8x4y2 + x2y4 – 5x3y3 8x6 + 8x4y2 – 5x3y3 + x2y4 – 7xy5
the last set.
from the highest power of x to the lowest power of x. @Jhannybean
lets say numbers at front of coefficients are humans and x represents chocolates y represent mangoes
@iambatman gtg please explain it
Ok, so you have \[-5x^3y^3+8x^4y^2-xy^5-2x^2y^4+8x^6+2x^2y^4-6xy^5\] does that look right? :P
So look at all the variables that are alike, and then just add/ subtract with that as you would normally, so -2x^2y^4 in there and there's a 2x^2y^4 so they cancel each other out.
@Jhannybean if you could confirm this please.
