Solve for x.

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

3 I think is there answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know x =2 as I can solve doing a long drawn out algebraic quadratic equation, Buis there a simpler geometric way?

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

*choices

OpenStudy (lizz123):

@Holly00d1248 explain why you think 3 is the answer

So I can say \[x ^{2}+6x=16 ....per ..the..pathogorean..theorem\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Leaving me with x^2+6x-16 = 0....or (x+8) (x-2) = 0 thus x=2. But this not shown as a way to solve in the text. Is there another way?

OpenStudy (raden):
