Help!! Please!
yeah
Okay... Hold a sec...
Here it is... Mike packed an equal number of flashlights in each of x gift boxes. The number of compartments in each gift box was 3 more than the number of boxes. The number of flashlights in each compartment of a box was 2 more than the number of compartments in each box. The expression below shows the total number of flashlights that Mike packed in all the boxes: x(x + 3)(x + 5) Which expression shows the number of flashlights in each box? x + 3 x + 5 (x + 3)(x + 5) x(x + 3)(x + 5)
Help! @Godlovesme
i dont really understand what they are asking for :/
Neither do i... :'(
Please separate the expressions that are given so that we can determine which would be correct. :3
@Tootles143
Okay... x + 3 x + 5 (x + 3)(x + 5) x(x + 3)(x + 5)
That's more like it lol Give me a sec. cx
OKay... Thank you! :)
Attach units to all of your expressions and it will be a lot clearer which expression is correct. We have \[x \ \text{boxes}\] \[\frac{(x+3) \ \text{compartments}}{\text{box}}\] \[\frac{(x+5) \ \text{flashlights}}{\text{compartment}}\] If you multiply all three equations together, notice that the \(\text{compartment}\) and \(\text{box}\) units cancel out, leaving you with the total number of \(\text{flashlights}\), which is the equation that is given to you. Now we are asked to provide the number of flashlights per box. As a fraction, that would look like \[\frac{\text{flashlights}}{\text{box}}\] What operation can you perform on the "total flashlights" equation such that you end up with an equation with the desired units? Hint: fractions just represent division. \(\frac{3}{2} = 3 \div 2\)
Okay... So what do i do?
Is it c or d?
Are you there?
Pleae i need help!
Please i need help... :'(
\((x)(x+3)(x+5)\) represents the total number of flashlights. Which quantity represents the number of boxes? If you divide the total number of flashlights by the number of boxes, you'll have your answer.
Oh... Umm... So was i wrong between the choices...
C or D...??
It's against the code of conduct of this website to tell you the answer. I can tell you that you've narrowed it down correctly, it's either C or D. What will you do then, pick one and hope for the best? I was trying to help you get to the answer on your own with my previous post.
I know and thank you its just i am really bad at math... :'(
