Well I would have to say A. Samuel Adams was the leader of the Sons of LIberty, a radical group who was better at bullying against the crown's authority than trying to solve it with theological conversation. I believe that Sam Adams was really the one that began the radical ideals that quickly spread among the colonies. He wrote several pamphlets against the crowns authority and his famous Boston Teaparty set history and gaines him a reputation. He was actually wanted by the British for radical idealistic displays against the crown.
