How to integrate y*abs(y)?

OpenStudy (idealist10):

@satellite73 @hartnn @ganeshie8 @zepdrix @iambatman @Compassionate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

from where to where?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or lets cut to the chase if \(y<0\) then \(y|y|=-y^2\) and if \(y>0\) then \(y|y|=y^2\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in other words it is a piecewise function, which is not surprising as the absolute value function is piecewise

OpenStudy (idealist10):

It doesn't have from where to where. It's an indefinite integral. But how to integrate this with respect to y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it \[\int y|y|dy\]?

OpenStudy (idealist10):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then what i said above is correct
