Hello, I am new i have no idea what to do, I can someone get me around? Thanks.
Do you mean what you can do on this site?
Certainly.
You can ask questions, answer questions and chat with others.
How come your username and profile picture has a purple look and mine not?
The colour of your username depends on your SmartScore and your role in OpenStudy (OS in short). For newcomers, you have red, then orange, yellow, golden and green. Moderators and administrators have their username in purple. As for the profile picture, it's just a coincident that I chose a seemingly purple picture. You can change your profile picture by clicking Settings > Change picture (on the left)
What are Moderators?
The ones who help moderate this site. When people violate the Code of Conduct ( http://www.openstudy.com/code-of-conduct), moderators are the ones who should investigate the matter and take corresponding actions.
oh,It says one question per post i asked two.
is it alright?
We don't count it this way. When you have some follow-up questions, you can ask in the same post. However, if you have a separate or irrelevant question, then you should start another post.
So for instance I have two math question one is related to functions and the other is related to Calculus so different post for each?
Yes, exactly. Please be reminded that you can only post one question in one group at the same time. That means if you have a question on functions and another on Calculus, you need to prioritize them. You can't post two math questions in the math group at the same time. However, if you want to post a question on function in the Mathematics group, you can do so, despite that you are posting a question in the OpenStudy Feedback group.
Thanks
This means i can have two questions in different section at the same time i think ?
Yes. :)
One per doubt? Can i ask in this post it self?
One more doubt not per
"Can i ask in this post it self?" What do you mean?
sorry keyboard lagging, can i ask a few more questions?
About?
The Code of Conduct
OK!
So it says no abusive language correct?
Yes.
then why do i see usernames including inappropriate words ?
not only that but also using inappropriate language in a chat group
The Development Team has tried to filter some inappropriate words and resemble them into something else. However, some users still bypass the language filter, for example, by adding spaces. There is no way we can 100% eliminate those inappropriate words. However, when you see anyone using those words, please click on the "Report Abuse" or "Report" button on the corresponding post. That way, moderators can look into it and take actions, for example, to delete those messages and issue those users a warning.
And what about usernames? Some people include inappropriate in the username
As I've said, we cannot filter all inappropriate words. Unfortunately, we cannot delete any accounts. Therefore, as for now, there is no way to remove inappropriate username. What we can do is to suspend the user for a very long period of time.
Thanks for the guide.
You're welcome.
So i shall now close this very post?
You can, if you have no more questions regarding this topic to ask.
How do i tag people from whom i want help?
Like this: @KenichiIvy
So i gives a NOTIFICATION.
Yes, it does.
Thanks.
What if the user is offline?
You can still tag him/her. That user will see the notification when he/she is online.
Thanks for the help again.
You're welcome.
